"How long can Alcoa mine in the worlds only Jarrah forest and adjacent to Perth's drinking water supply without properly resourcing and managing its Mining business. This is pure speculation however maybe Alcoa haven't just taken the ability to mine in the Darling Scarp for granted maybe they have realised the risk posed by any curtailment of the Western Australian Mining operations and have developed cost comparable Bauxite resources."

Supposedly, and I will emphasise SUPPOSEDLY, a number of permits have already been held up, forcing alternative mining activities of late.
Unsure if it was applicable to due diligence failures, or external factors.

At a breath, I would hasten to add that costs may increased considerably of late, however outlooks too are SUPPOSEDLY positive into the longer term.

Rehabilitation is reportedly of extremely high priority, however I am yet to find any real , peer reviewed data as to the actual success of said persuance.
This whole mining region appears to take place unabated, and with what seems to be without true environmental governance

How mining has been allowed by Newmont and AWC in this region is beyond me. Perhaps one day Australia will rue this decision, however it's in WA, so is easy to overlook as WA issues are primarily ignored.

Had it been north of Melbourne, in Canberra, or in the southern suburbs of Sydney, which is where it is located in the Peel region, within actual site of the Perth CBD , the uproar would be deafening...
