re: take over target Slightly off topic - I gather that todays drop was attributable to the correction in the gold and copper prices. Real pisser that the Ox's sp seems reasonably elastic in responding to any fall in the gold/copper price yet is sluggish to respond to positive movements. More evidence in my opinion that forces are at work to contain any upward movement in the sp but are happy to see it fall away. It could be that someone is trying to keep the sp in hand while it gathers itself for a crack at the Ox.

I have seen it suggested on SS that it might be Merill Lynch playing game to manipulate the sp but I thought OH appointed them as defensive advisers to potential t/o. So not entirely sure what interest they would have in depressing the sp.

Any thoughts ?

Question - how long does it generally take for an outfit to organise a t/o bid ?
