Thanks for pointing out the recent CR. I was unaware. I guess they are more broke than stupid. I did hesitate before using that word.
The similarities between REEs and Tungsten that I was thinking of are that both materials are dominated by the Chinese and China is restricting supply of both materials in an effort to attract industry and know how to China.
The USA have taken issue with China through the WTO over the restriction of free trade in Tungsten. They are considering similar action over REEs.
Another similarity might be the share price over the development cycle. I.e. the initial struggle followed by euphoria then a long hard grind to production and finally realisation of profits and a meaningful P/E ratio. Lynas (REEs) is hopefully coming to the end of the long hard grind but not before the price crashed from 2.70 to 0.90.
