Not possible. If you establish a mining operation, trucks, conveyors, mills, surface gasifier, it means big bucks.

Surface gasification is more likely and less risky, but if UCG was to be proven to even work with these coals, it would take years of pilot work and it would feed a separate plant, i.e part of a growth story not a replacement of mining of feed for the first plant.

Even getting raw coal to surface and then gasifying will take years. But first, a 1000 tonne of coal minimum would need to be mined to provide a representative sample for trial works in a test gasifier to get the design numbers. Talking years. No bank in the world would be content with a couple of container loads sent to a university test chamber when investing billions.

I hope you get the idea how just far-fetched this announcement is.
