From what I have heard profitman it is not clogging up anywhere, it is the cutter head of the machine reaches out too far over the apron which has the gathering arms on it, therefore a fair dead of the waste material cannot be mucked out causing issues with shotcrete design.

But from what I understand this is only a part of the bigger picture, from what I have heard through others is that the money they are paying the workers is not good, they have too fly themselves in and out, the list goes on, if you want good experienced tunnel workers that hook in and make it happen you need to pay them.

I do not work on that job but do know a couple that do and know people that know others that do and most are not from a tunnelling background which imo is a must have.

Yes the re designed the roadheaders by attatching a bolting rig and shotcrete arm to the top but that is all, it has been done before nothing new.
