NSW PELS have already been reduced to 11% of the State, because of minority protestor groups.

The State Govt rather than supporting Mel, is now, behind closed doors, debating how much to offer Mel, so they can exit the NR. As, a previous poster said $120 million is just a refund of the costs, Mel has spent in the 10 year period. That is not compensation. The State Govt, if they do not want a gas industry in NSW, should pay Mel for the certified reserves, as the gas is there, and is no risk down the track, for any other gas company, to bring to production, should Govt policy change.

And they say Australia is open for business! Are they for real. Mel and its shareholders have been in limbo for 4 years now because of the Greens, LTG and AJ. Their views are more important than science and facts, and addressing the gas shortages, in a state that is dependent on other states, for energy.

The irony is that the State of QLD is running on 90% CSG. When they had their State Election in January, no seats were lost, where there was CSG activity. Whereas, in NSW, Ballina was lost to the Greens, with their scaremongering campaign, and there is no gas there, or likely to be, and Lismore, went right down to the wire, and Mel has only 5% of her Pels there.
