The Special Access Scheme is being used by PAR as a way of getting results from "all comers" - these results are spectacular as they only select patients who have failed all other therapies - ie those that would otherwise have surgery and they are given the drug free but have to submit info for approval and for follow-up - basically a way of getting more real world data for little expense and also slowly getting the word out.

Of course it won't continue much longer and would be very surprised that the delays in accessing the SAS people have noted isn't PAR holding of on numbers because of the demand.

We should probably stop directing people to seek the medication until it's approved and chargeable, especially of some of those patients might not be the best candidates......
