The rock chip is taken from outcrop in a river or on the sidewalls of a river. Being in a high rainfall area the rivers rapidly erode the hills exposing rock. I have taken many myself in PNG and Indonesia.

Photos show the rock samples to be slightly oxidized sulphides also suggesting rapid errosion.

The Au:Ag ratio in Central Creek is unusual - I am not sure what to make of it. Usually high base metals are associated with high Ag.

I can see two things they need to check:

The strike of the mineralisation is believed to be ~E-W but the rivers are running ~N-S. It is possible that there is a N-S structure that intersects the E-W structure and gives the high grade. Their mapping should confirm/refute this.

Photos of the sample site show an extremely smooth rock face making sampling with a chisel or G-Pick very difficult. It should get a portable diamond saw to check the results.

The creek photos bring back memories - I started scratching imaginary leach and mosquito bites.
