I'm glad that you have blogged extensively on the subject as your nice little chart says little about the price of gold during the depression, except of course that the official price of gold was raised from US$20.67/oz to US$35/oz. Now who did that, and how could it be comparable to the expectation of deflation?

Slightly off topic, but I had a great trip to South Dakota in the mid 1990s and went to Lead and saw the gold mine there. Very impressive.

Back to do some more research. Its obvious I have a long way to go.
