What about accused teachers

    I watched Christian Porter’s denials.

    He made the strong point that he shouldn’t be stood aside on the basis of an accusation which he denies. It is a strong point. our legal system is based on the presumption of inosence. It raises two important points;

    1) should teachers have their careers destroyed on the basis of unsupported allegations? Don’t they also deserve the presumption of inosence?

    2) The ridiculous stance, across the world, of saying in cases of alleged sexual assault that we “believe the victim”. Surely the evidence of the accuser has to be weighed in court?
