If you borrow 80% of the value of your three houses so you can invest it all in EMH, I am - and I am sure all other readers of this post will be - indeed impressed by your conviction. I take my hat off to your courageous investment decision - as Sir Humphrey Appleby used to say!

I am happy to sell you my shares in an off market transaction at $3.45 - i.e. we equally share the the profit you are going to make by Christmas by you selling the shares at $7.75 into the takeover.

Just in case you decline my offer, I will diarise to offer you my shares at $6.00 at Christmas time - for the unlikely possibility that a takeover has not occurred by then. This will allow you to turn a quick 29% profit within a week or so, and by then the bank should have come through with the funds.
