Perhaps realization, amongstother things, of the likelihood of mounting bad debts is the reason thefounders have cashed in much of their holdings?

Of course you're missing something if you're going to grossly oversimplify things, e.g. by assuming that the only reason people don't have CCs is because they have bad credit ratings.
