Sex is one of the very few chances we get to actually taste cosmic consciousness. Orgasm is "the little death", a tiny taste of what it feels like to actually transcend the self-image with all its hang ups and limits. One does not need to be a Tantric practitioner either - it's built into the process. So long as you know how to let go and surrender, you can claim that very momentary taste of bliss (expanded ego, or ego-without-boundary).
Also, there's a big difference between bliss and enlightenment. Chalk and cheese. To sit in meditation in order to achieve ecstasy for a limited period of time is very unnatural, but I don't begrudge anyone chasing pleasure in that way, just as I don't begrudge anyone chasing sex. Freedom (real freedom or "enlightenment") has nothing to do with ecstasy or bliss.
