Jeez, the govt has only allocated $15m for 2 yrs. By the time they set themselves up in offices -buy a fleet of vehicles - promote themselves to commissioners - go on a truckload of overseas tours and symposiums - etc and so on there will barely be enough money left to buy a week's worth of grainy pictures. These are public servants setting up an empire and a gravy train to ride. They now want to fade into the background so no one finds out what they are up to. Any corporation who is taking on building that railway(???) will use proper images because they will be putting their own money on the line - not the public's. Rest easy nearmap disciples - your prayers will be answered before too many more full moons. The more that Eagleview and the one or two other reasonable aternatives try to penetrate the market then the more likely the market will take a look at the market. Of course the biggest issue for nearmap in the good ole US is that it is not an american company.
