G'day marksman,
I know nought about OXR but consider this; a lot of options expire without getting paid up be they out of the money or in the money so by getting 50% underwritten they may be guaranteeing they are able to get all of the money in. What's in it for the broker? Well an underwriting fee and the prospect also of being able to sell the stock for a higher price.
I am not saying this is the OXR scenerio just something that should be considered. Also consider why a broker would want to underwrite all that money only to be left with worthless paper.
