OSR its not about the process, there are others out there that recycle slag its about Cost. Its the first time that a process has been used that the recycler (MHM) and supplier(Alcoa SIMS) can make a profit on it. Instead of costing to dump it in landfill or paying a small fortune to recycle it. Alcoa are only interested because it increases there bottom line and save money on landfill, with the added bonus of being green. Yes someone may come up with Alternitive processes but it all about the bottom line and profit will it make money. Thats why Alcoa are coming to the plant not because of Technology it because it increases bottom line simple for no cost in fact it actually saves them the cost of the landfill
