Hi (donedeal)
Even as far back as March 2006 in a Geological Overview and Resource Review the Consulting Geologist was talking about consolidating the iron ore deposits in Gabon,The Congo and Cameroon.
This report said there is a correlation between the BIF and a positive topographic expression in the area. The known localities are all coincident with smaller hills, mappable on remote sensing data.
In summery, massive hematite is not directly identifiable but is associated and coincident with magnetite rich BIF that has the following target characteristics:
1.Intense magnetic anomalies.
2.Coincident with discrete hills and
3.Anomalous geochemical signature.
They identify 4 other magnetic anomalies that are in EP92 that could be interpreted to be associated with similar structures to Mbarga,Metzimevin,Njweng and Meridoinal.
Two of CVRD mines of Itabirite have been in operation a long time, one since 1942 and the other since 1957.Both are projected to be exhausted in the year 2014.
Regards
Westcott.
