The ASX is open for trading on Monday 1st October, however the ASX have advised this day will be a non-settlement day due to the Labour Day public holiday*.
As a result, Monday 1st October is not included in T+3^ calculations of settlement dates. For example, a trade executed on Wednesday 26th September 2012 will settle overnight on Tuesday 2nd October 2012 and proceeds will be available the next business day.
The following settlement arrangements will occur:

Tuesday, 25 September Friday, 28 September
Wednesday, 26 September Tuesday, 2 October
Thursday, 27 September Wednesday, 3 October
Friday, 28 September Thursday, 4 October
Monday, 1 October Thursday, 4 October
* Labour Day applies to ACT, NSW, and SA. Queen’s Birthday public holiday in WA, QLD.
^ Three ASX settlement days after the trade (T+3)
Please note that normal settlement occurs for all Exchange Traded Options (ETOs) and ASX CFDs accounts.
