Innocentcarbon; if you believe in Australian values including fairness and freedom you cannot turn a blind eye to matters such as those I raised in the opening post on this thread.

For more than a decade John Howard emphatically denied Aborigines their long overdue apology stemming from English invasion that officially commenced on January 26th, 1788. Such is his English heritage!

Then after pretending to be the best friend Aborigines ever had, the moment Tony Abbott became PM he slashed and burned funding in the Budget for indigenous programs and reneged on his great big promise to hold a referendum within 12 months of becoming PM. He even FAILED to honour his promise to spend a week in a remote Aboriginal community upon becoming PM - when he finally turned up more than 12 months late he did little more than conduct self-indulgent media stunts.

As for the impact of Abbott's approach to educating Aborigines; the Principal and teachers implementing his ill-conceived approach had to flee to for their own safety after the terrible mess that appalling approach caused.

Then there's the impact of Howard's military intervention into remote Aboriginal communities and Abbott's labelling of them as "lifestyle choices". NO-one has done worse and NO apology has been offered.

Fair dinkum, you couldn't make this stuff up!
