Let's face it, life for many young Aborigines is bleak. there are success stories though.
Biggest tragedy for the Aborigine is the lack of decent role models. there are some good ones but not enough.
Modernity outlawed cannibalism, murder, theft, rape etc etc. Introduced modern medicine.
Yet many in the do-good army of bleeding hearts don't want to put any restraints on Aboriginal communities. Remember how they said a 50 year old could marry a 5 year old girl because that was their culture etc etc etc. Many of these idiots were "Anthropologists" who seem to want the Aborigine to remain in the Stone Age.
