Scott Rochfort knows his bankers will always stand by him.
BABCOCK & BROWN POWER'S chief executive, Ross Rolfe, appears to have undergone some form of a spiritual reawakening during the financial crisis.
After presenting a $149 million full-year loss on Friday, Rolfe closed his address with a stirring tribute to the debt-stricken power station group's band of 11 banks.
''I want to place on the record my heartfelt thanks to the banking group, we do have a very close working relationship based on honesty and trust.
''I couldn't hope for a better group of people to work through a difficult set of issues with,'' said an emotional Rolfe.
Maybe he just knows who butters his bread. He will get a $240,000 retention bonus if he and the company can stick around until October 31.
