I think also.... just looking at the sales, couches were blatantly forward brought. I.e. like with baby bunting, the people who were thinking about having kids, had kids... and now are holding off for economic (or health reasons?). People who were thinking about buying a couch bought a couch and aren't going to buy another one. You can see it in the sales jump, all of a sudden people didn't have extra rooms for couches, they simply upgraded during a time when money was splashed (forward brought sales), now the money has gone they aren't going to buy an additional couch... Naive to think otherwise.
