ok - watso could not find his power meter, so had to have a bit of a calculated guess - and came up with 167 watts of consumption - which is about 5c worth.

    1.  nicely soft boiled 15 eggs (50 gram each) in one litre of water - in a saucepan on the induction cooker.  settings were at 350 watts and 80C.  it seems that egg whites start to firm up at 80 °C.. watso used his infrared thermometer gun to check on progress)

The major protein of egg white, ovalbumin, makes up 54% of the white and doesn't coagulate until the temperature reaches 80 °C. The yolk begins to thicken around 65 °C and sets around 70 °C.

watso then cooled the eggs in cool water (and obviously that water warmed up a bit) and added that to the 1 litre of 80 °C... ended up with about 2.5 litres of warm water

    2.  in his micro washer, watso washed two t-shirts (one at a time) and a pair of undies.

    3. the last one litre of warm water was just the right amount of water for a european wash  - ie face, pits, sack and crack .

not a bad effort for 5c worth of electricity
