Paradigm recently in their year end progress report updated us with the announcement of not one but two upcoming symposiums, let's now investigate this some more.

What is a symposium?

Well a strict definition is one of two things:
1) a conference or meeting to discuss a particular subject.
2) a drinking party or convivial discussion, especially as held in ancient Greece after a banquet (and notable as the title of a work by Plato).

Hmm I suspect both are true. In all seriousness read it as a conference to discuss ideas and presentations.

How does this help us?

Well the primary way it will be of benefit to us shareholders is the fact that it is both a scientific/educational as well as a part marketing exercise that will help spread the word about us! That can only be a good thing specially in these early days before we get really national and global.We have a finite amount of issued shares and the demand can only go up as more people become aware of us and what we have to one day offer.

Details?

Well the first symposium is the 38th JP Morgan conference to be held in San Francisco on the 13th to the 16th of Jan. Its mooted that around 9000 people will attend and some 450 companies will bepresenting in one format or another. Despite the fact that it's not terribly exclusive to us as such, in that we aren't a sponsor or main presenter, we will have some presence and some extra awareness generated as a result.

In the following month we have another conference, the 16th annual World Symposium on Lysomal Diseases with around 1900 people attending. This is a more honed in conference covering just Lysome conditions but there are at least 400 posters that I came across. I couldn't see ours specifically but If I find any reference to it I'll post it. Im sure Paradigm will announce something after each to give us at least a high level summary?

Ramifications?

Well I'm not expecting a leap in our underlying SP after these two events, we may get a nudge? I did allude to the fact that a presentation in NY by PNV DID have a stimulatory effect in their SP at the time but circumstances were a little different, see POST:

In the case of PNV they already had some revenue and that always helps, it's still quite early days for us but our time is coming.
