If you take the cash that is certainly a CG event and tax has to be paid. If you take shares, not necessarily a Cap Gain event as may come up rollover releif.
In past I was involved in a mixed cash shares (50:50). Had to pay CGT on cash but not on shares until I sold them. You will find this is covered in prospectus? that will be sent to SXP shareholders.
