I am no expert, but yes, LAU's railable containers would often be stacked at depots, but perhaps less than seaborne containers that can be 12 deep or more on a huge container ship, or stacked for months in container yards if there's an imbalance of demand v supply, or the shipping companies don't want to carry empty containers as IIRC we saw for a time during Covid.
Reefer containers require consistent energy. It'd be no good a solar-powered container running out of juice at 0400 in the morning, as the chilled or frozen products need a constant temperature of say four degrees for the former and zero etc. for the latter. But I am no engineer!
