madamswer, I am in Europe but you omitted how LAU is now I believe #1 in reefer - refrigerated - intermodal transport IIRC.
The rail expansion has driven the uplift.
i had thought Linfox and a couple of foreign owned competitors were larger. Linfox certainly is in dry container transport.
LAU also has a dominant position in fruit and vegetable transport though from memory it discarded many smaller agreenents.
Whether these two give pricing power is not clear as I agree it is not a REH type moat.
What effect higher diesel fuel prices from the ME conflict is interesting. I hope LAU can pass on, or as you say, though, any such changes.
