Albo is meant to be in the US next week for talks with Trump on trade.
Given whats just gone down, AUKUS will definitely be on the table too. As well as general defence spending level.
Possible outcomes: 1. Trump demands more uranium as a condition of continuing AUKUS. LIKELIHOOD: Quite possible. outcome: MAJOR POSITIVE FOR CXU 2. Albo refuses to agree to any defence spending increase. LIKLIHOOD :LIKELY. outcome: Trump angry. AUKUS at risk. 3. Trump ambushes Albo Zelensky style about Aussie aluminium, beef, etc. LIKELIHOOD: Possible, hopefully not. OUTCOME: ALBO tries to push back (in aussie media at least) - says he's acting in Australias interests. Not great for us 4.Trump refuses to actually confirm the meeting and lets Albo sweat it until next time. Wouldnt be surprised...
Whats eveyrones view on this? The right outcome could be a game changer; given whats happened to other world leaders in the Oval recently, who knows how this will end up!
