I would like to think that all is OK with the 29 miners but after all this time, I am fearing the worst - especially as the reports say that there is still a fire burning and a lot of toxic gas.
The latest report said:
"Two miners who survived the explosion just before 4:00pm (local time) Friday were discharged from hospital after being treated for minor injuries. They had indicated three others were making their way out, but no one appeared."

Whether this turns out to be a "close shave" or a "tragic event", there has to be a lesson learned here:
I just hope the authorities (mainly the "greens" who insisted on this tunnel method of mining) will now see the folly of their ways and allow PRC to mine as they should have from the beginning.
(Open cast mine with an up-front cash deposit to guarantee restoration of the area afterwards).
