What can we learn from this? That companies in high risk areas, such as mining, need to have top health and safety measures for any eventuality. These miners are the salt of the earth - doing the hard work so that these executives have something to spruik about - and they need to be protected. Money needs to be spent on protecting them.
Did anyone see that fancy yellow sports car that was at the scene on one of the TV transmissions from the mine? I bet it wasn't a miner's car. Money should have been spent sending more experts to the site (even from Chile) than bringing all these executives and officials over - who'll just gloat about how good it is for the miners that they're there.
I pray that the miners are still alive - that there will be a miracle. Their families deserve their loved ones to come home from work.
