Orocobre expands output on strong lithium demand

"Orocobre's raising came as rival lithium producer Galaxy Resources fell just short of its 2017 lithium production target.​

Galaxy mines lithium-rich spodumene in Western Australia and had vowed to produce 160,000 tonnes of spodumene concentrate in 2017, but ultimately produced 155,679 tonnes.
The company sold 153,518 tonnes of concentrate in the year, but the shortfall was offset by surging prices; Galaxy's average realised selling price in the final three months of 2017 was 60 per cent higher than in the first three months of the year."
