Race horses getting killed off is par for the course, nothing new there (not condoning it). I think the biggest cause of people's outrage at other cruelty is the false belief that the human race is improving. Sure, we might be improving technologically but we have not nor ever will improve morally, as a race. Understand that in yourselves and you have to improve individually and enough individuals are honest enough to make moral improvement their life's goal then the flow-on will effect the whole world. But it can ONLY start by effecting the one thing you have in your control, yourself.
