I heard that a mate of John Howard owned Manildra and whispered in his ear to start the E10 projects at service stations. Now that Unleaded petrol is being phased out of production as of 30 June 2012. All unleaded fuel will have blends of ethanol in it. Except for the Premium high octane fuel. But one problem is that there is not enough ethanol to meet supply to meet this task in the specified date ie 30 June 2012.
Thus ethanol blended petrol will rise in price up to 9 cents a litre more till this problem is overcome.
But production of the ethanol in this country must rise by at least 28% to 35 % to meet demand.
So production of ethanol must rise at least 30% by these companies that produce the product now.
I just hope they do not start mucking around with Diesel fuels next.
