The dataroom itself, based on what I understand there to be (a few thousand kms of 2D seismic and a few wells) might take a couple of weeks to review and then maybe another couple of weeks to come to a technical decision. The internal processes of a major, plus the negotiations following a positive-nod from the technical team might, however, take months, particularly if it is a new country entry. If one of the majors was to throw in a bid that was anywhere near acceptable, the others would be told to s*it or get off the pot.
