Public officials are in denial, they get more secretive as the public, due to the internet in all forms makes them better educated and more demanding of their rights to know the actual facts
There is actually nothing to hide, things get old and they have to be repaired or rebuilt, no big deal so why keep it secret
So an explosion is on the cards soon, after all this is a big reason that Trump was elected, and yet we have the opposition, ie Conservative party ( in Aus) still ignorant of what the people expect of their leaders, good for the Labor party, they are here until they declares elections to be superfluous
