Dex My take is that it suggest if Abbott didn't snipe in all that time.
Couple of observations from me, first is that if Abbott had kept his word he would have the respect and admiration of his colleagues and that who have left the door open for him to regain the leadership at some point, though he would have to show he would apply a different leadership style. As it is Abbott has lost the respect of most that where loyal supporters and I would say he doesn't have a hope in hell of regaining the leadership, he might even lose pre-selection for his seat.
The other point is, would the LNP be polling better if Abbott had kept his word? IMO Abbott undermining and sniping has done a lot of damage to the LNP and at the very least is not at all helpful
