the same view applied to the atomic bombs dropped on Japan. many protested the extreme violence and lack of consideration of innocent lives.
so in effect both WW2 blitzes were contrary to current humanitarian international laws. but those laws weren't created by the combined wisdom of the international community. it even took a few solid decades of debate at the UN to enable such an infrastructure, the legal framework.
Now however those laws are in place. Israel and Hamas have committed crimes against humanity. both must take responsibility.
Hamas will be wiped out as soon as this war is called off. I doubt Netanyahu will call ceasefire as his political ambitions and personal freedom won't allow it. so Hamas will live as long as Israel attacks Gazan people indiscriminately. More people are now judging Israel harshly because of their rejection of international pressure to call a ceasefire.
