Surely this could also be looked at through BOAML's eyes. 85c is a very good price for this debt and looks to me like a vote of confidence. They must surely anticipate getting their full $1.00 back to pay that price. I guess it could be argued that they are buying a seat at the table in a restructuring scenario, but again, 85c is a big price to pay.
