Well.....that is one down and now one to go...

I think the company holding will be more difficult to get sorted out, seeing
that I cant even get my account number out of AST

So....Commsec and their international broker pershing came through with
the goods...I got my holding transfered to the pershing account and I sold
them last night our time for US$9.12 a share not a huge amount of shares
involved but at least I got roughly a third of what I paid for the old BTA shares
in total...so a 60% loss...on world leading science...what an alround cluster

I can at least now claim a capital loss and close the books on this account

At least my shorting through my CFD account worked and made me nearly
two grand our money AUD's that is, on top of what I got from selling the
vaxart script

So if you have a commsec account and complete a w8ben form and
manage to get your account number from AST and then wait the best
part of a month...you should be in luck...and there was no fee from
commsec and pershing for doing all the work...which was a few emails
and a phone call because of the wrong account number given by AST
so a big thumbs up to commsec, seeing as no other broker would
touch any holding under the $10k mark by the looks of things

Anyway...will try to sort out the companies holding now
