he has a gift of rhetoric and that takes intelligence. yet he puts his gift to a selfish purpose. I think of it as wanting his ego stroked. the audience obliges with massive roars of adoration.
so many musos have described the buzz that comes from audience applause. it gets addictive. so I don't quite see it as evil, more just entertainment. destructive entertainment but nonetheless.
