Hi everyone. Just saw an article on The Age about the new Australia Day lamb ad:

    http://www.theage.com.au/lifestyle/...h-indigenous-australians-20170112-gtq9ey.html

It seems there are always people who say Australia Day is celebrating the invasion of indigenous land, Australia has always been racist, Australia killed Aboriginals etc

My question is: What do you want Australia to do? What do you think we should do so you can aren't offended?? Can Australia ever make you happy??

What the colonialists did in the past was awful; there's no denying that. But today Australia tries to make up for its past in every way possible. We have affirmative action for aboriginals, the acknowledgment of the traditional lands before an event takes places, aboriginal culture and history is taught in school. How much self flagellation must Australia undergo before it's enough? This is exactly like how Germany is behaving with its history of the Nazi era. I am completely baffled by people who constantly point out the wrongs of Australia. They never acknowledge what good Australia has done for its people and what it has contributed to the world. Then there are countries who deny wrong doing in its past like Japan in World War II or Turkey and its genocide of Armenians. They aren't being vilified by the international community.

    What are your thoughts?
