We had an exchange British officer give us a speech back in the 70s. Apparently with their problems in Ireland they were over stretched with the Cypress invasion. They asked the U.N. if they could use the Australian Infantry to help them with peacekeeping in Northern Ireland. The U.N. refused, saying the Australians are too aggressive!
