Sounds OK on paper, but in reality who would buy them?

Telstra - unlikely (but maybe..) they have never really done much in the MNVO space, nor bought users in the past. The optus contract would be interesting if they did persue the company.

Optus - most likely. but why would they? They have already chosen to outsource the customer care for this million users so would seem odd to pay to take back the privilege. They could just as easily create their own mobile-only no-frills brand and steal away amaysim customers once their contact runs out and the price-parity clause expires.

Vodafone/TPG - possibly, but not sure how all the contract stuff with optus would work out. Again, they are starting their own low cost network and buying users for hundreds of dollars each doesn't strike me as their style. Rather than pay amaysim for each user, they can offer that same money to the user as a promo-plan/credit (yesterday the market would seem to have valued each amaysim customer at around $400 each, even half that price, TPG could offer $10 off a new customers plan each month for an entire year and it would be cheaper than buying the customer).

Who knows though, the sector is full of surprises!
