Apologies, wasn't very clear in the post from my phone. Not so much suggesting that the plan itself is good value, just observing the fact that TPG are offering a $10 per month discount (effective 50% for that particular plan) for 6 months.
The comment was in reply to the fact that amaysim would be an acquisition target. Even at the current market cap, it would seem the market is valuing each customer at over $250 each. At the old market cap it was closer to $500.
My point is merely, what's the incentive for someone to pay that much for a customer (especially a no-contract one, with no guarantees they will hang around) when they could just offer really steep discounts to lure customers away instead.
Maybe $10 off a $20 1.5GB plan isn't compelling, how about $15 off a $40 plan for 12 months or some other big % discount. This would still cost tpg or another company less than buying the customer off amaysim.
