Faith it would seem is not faith unless it is coupled to an action.

Definitely! Hebrews ch 11 is full of examples of men & women of faith.
Abel, Enoch,Noah,Abraham,Sarah etc,etc.
After reviewing what they accomplished through faith ch 12 goes on to recommend:
(Hebrews 12:1, 2) So, then, because we have such a great cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also throw off every weight and the sin that easily entangles us,(loss of faith) and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, as we look intently at the Chief Agent and Perfecter of our faith, Jesus. For the joy that was set before him he endured a torture stake, despising shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
Jesus of course was the supreme example of faith for us.
