This is just speculation that the Government "MIGHT" follow the Henry review and change the FBT rules, I doubt the Government would attack the pay and conditions of public servant's and charity workers in a election year.
Don't forget that the GST was recommended during a taxation review in the mid 70's and took 20 years before a government had the guts to face the electors with it.
That is why they have leaked the details now, if enough Public servants jump up and down (which they will) and the ALP think they will take a hit on it at the next election it will quickly get canned.
So get ready to buy when Rudd or Swan knock it on the head.
