    George Bush (1st) removed that connection between gold and the US dollar, now if the sheet hits the fan (GFC) the reserve just prints money ( with approval from the govt - debt ceiling) and the value is in the trust that the US can repay much the same as cryptos if the faith is not there we have a devaluation, if there was a link gold the price per ounce would be through the roof. Early days for the alternative currencies but the blockchain behind them should revolutionise the way we perceive money. My rabble is done have a happy day mate
