I purhased some SUR in Nov, but sold about a week ago at breakeven. The reason I went in was only the Thai permit, but from the CVN AGM I got the impression that whilst enthusiast about it the new permit would be a slow exercise, albeit that they would be expeditious.

Also expensive for seismic hence SUR will need to front up with quite a bit of cash. Not good for a cash burner like SUR (which I would never normally touch because of it's dog's breakfast of far flung cash burning liabilities - hard to use the word assets).

The permit may be the company maker for SUR, but the permit aquisition didn't do it for the sp, therefore if I was to re-enter it will be closer to drilling, as meantime the company will be bleeding, issuing shares and shareprice may just dilute down. Imo only enter now if you like their more immediate projects and/or the new chief.
