This is a very interesting scenario that is occuring. What company in their right mind would let this deal lapse.
There's nearly $3 profit per share on the table at this time and also a suitor (OZL) that would happily take this share issue off their hands.
So ---- is it inconceivable that they (nikko) would allow this to lapse UNLESS - someone much bigger has got in their ear.
Isn't it a realistic scenario for OZL to offer sweeteners to nikko to keep them out of the equation. After all "Prominent HILL" has plenty to offer a big Korean entity like Nikko.
I believe a very smart deal has been brokered behind the scenes, by OZ Minerals which will keep the door open for them.
