I've watched LHG for some time.
IMHO, nothwithstanding the fact that this share's behaviour is erratic in that the share price confounds in both directions, it has merit and can't be simply written off.
Substantial reserves of decent quality, with a respectable cost of production, it still is a potential takeover target for one of the majors. I would guess at AngloGold who could use rands not US$ or AUD$ to buy it.
When everyone gives up hope, this share surprises on the upside. We are in that environment right now.
